Network Administrator in ATLAS DAQ

The Network Administrator in ATLAS DAQ is an entry-level technical position working within the ATLAS Data Acquisition team to deploy, test, operate and monitor high-availability network infrastructure for the ATLAS experiment. The role involves installation, commissioning and maintenance of network and DAQ hardware, development and deployment of monitoring and alerting solutions, and collaboration with experts across CERN and other LHC experiments. The contract includes on-the-job and formal training and can be extended up to 36 months.

Monthly net stipend (4687 CHF); 30 days paid leave plus 2 weeks closure; CERN health insurance coverage and pension fund membership; family and child allowances depending on circumstances; relocation package; on-the-job and formal training including language classes; possibility to extend contract up to 36 months.

Applicants must be nationals of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State (applications from Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot, Croatian and Turkish nationals cannot be considered for this vacancy). By the application deadline, applicants may have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in a technical or administrative field and their highest qualification must be a general secondary education diploma or a shorter non-university degree. Applicants must not hold a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree and must never have had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
