Academic and Industry Partnership award (UK Human Functional Genomics Initiative Innovation and Collaboration fund)

The Academic and Industry Partnership award is a grant scheme delivered under the UK Human Functional Genomics Initiative (FGx) Innovation and Collaboration fund to support feasibility, pilot or initial studies that build links between industrial partners and the FGx. Awards are intended to generate preliminary experimental data and strengthen collaborations to enable competitive collaborative grant proposals for longer-term projects. Projects may include development of novel functional genomic annotations, methods, models, and computational approaches relevant to disease-relevant systems. Industrial partners are expected to provide matched funding (cash, in-kind or both).

Project funding for feasibility or pilot studies (direct project costs, staff time, travel and subsistence), and support for networking activities.

Applicants must be based at a UK research organisation and be researchers eligible for Medical Research Council (MRC) funding. Applicants may apply as independent researchers with collaboration from an industrial partner.
