BBSRC Standard Research Grant (applicant-led mode)

The BBSRC Standard Research Grant (applicant-led mode) is a funding scheme to support investigator-led research across the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council scientific remit. Awards may fund research projects, equipment or facility use, community resources, research networks and summer schools across areas such as plants, microbes, animals and humans and underpinning tools and technologies. Projects can run for up to five years and the full economic cost (FEC) of a project can be up to £2 million, with BBSRC funding 80% of the FEC. The scheme is open to researchers based at UK research organisations eligible for BBSRC funding.

Applicants must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for BBSRC funding; standard research grants are available for researchers at eligible research organisations. Organisations based overseas and business-based applicants are not eligible to apply, though overseas and business-based collaborators may be included as project partners.
