Fulbright-Nehru Student Research Fellowships (2027-2028)

The Fulbright-Nehru Student Research Fellowships provide U.S. students with an opportunity to undertake independent research in India for 2027-2028. Fellows design and conduct their own research projects, with support for affiliation with recognised Indian institutions and potential collaboration with Indian scholars and practitioners. Applications are welcomed across academic and professional disciplines, with priority given to projects aligned with areas of strategic interest to U.S.-India cooperation.

Open to U.S. students who wish to undertake independent research in India; proposals may be interdisciplinary and policy-relevant.

Review the official Fulbright U.S. Student Program information and the India-specific award details; develop a clear research proposal and obtain an affiliation with a host institution where possible; submit application by the stated deadline.
