NRF-Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA) Programme 2024

The NRF-Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA) Programme 2024 provides mobility funding for South African doctoral students or postdoctoral fellows to undertake research in Canada, in collaboration with Canadian host universities. The programme is a joint NRF-Mitacs initiative to strengthen international research collaboration between South African and Canadian institutions. Each successful applicant receives a CAD 6,000 research award to conduct a 12- to 24-week project in Canada.

Be a Doctoral student or Postdoctoral fellow who is a South African citizen or permanent resident studying at a South African public institution of higher learning.

South African or Canadian host supervisors initiate by requesting an application package through the Mitacs website; applicants complete the package online via Mitacs and submit to the Canadian university representative before the deadline.
