Psychological Science Cross-Training for Christian Theology

A funding competition to support projects that facilitate cross-training in psychological science for theologians, philosophers of religion, and scholars in religious studies working in Christian theology. The Foundation seeks projects that build capacity for science-engaged theological research by increasing fluency in psychological sciences, creating resources, and seeding cross-disciplinary collaborations. Eligible projects include activities such as mentoring, residency with psychological science research groups, formal courses, resource production, and convenings that foster collaboration between theologians and psychological scientists.

OFI submissions are invited for proposals aimed at giving theologians, philosophers of religion, and scholars in religious studies who work in Christian theology opportunities to cross-train in the psychological sciences. Applicants should propose projects that incentivize and facilitate intensive cross-training, build a scholarly community, create resources, and seed research programs.

Submit an Online Funding Inquiry (OFI) via the John Templeton Foundation portal following the Foundation's Funding Competition Details and Instructions; successful OFIs may be invited to full proposal stage.
