Prijs Dr. Karel-Lodewijk Verleysen ter bekroning van medisch onderzoekswerk aan de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven

The Prijs Dr. Karel-Lodewijk Verleysen is an award recognising medical research carried out mainly at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. It rewards fundamental or clinical medical research, preferably with therapeutic relevance, presented as a scientific treatise or a set of publications. The prize consists of a monetary award to recognise the researcher and support continuation of the research.

€7,500 total (€2,500 personal reward and €5,000 for continuation of the research).

An individual researcher or up to three collaborating researchers may submit one research entry. Candidates must have obtained their doctoral degree less than five years before the submission deadline (with documented full-month parental leave or sick leave exceptions); the doctorate need not yet be formally awarded. Candidates must not have applied in the previous twelve months for an Academy prize, must not be laureates of a category 1, 2 or 3 prize of the Academy, and must not be members of a Royal Academy of Belgium. The submitted work must have been carried out mainly at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and may be in Dutch, French or English.

Complete the provided application form and web form; include a one-page summary, a Web of Science export of the top 50 cited publications, a PDF of up to 10 relevant publications or a thesis, and, if applicable, official documents proving periods of full-month parental leave or sick leave.
