Limits of State Control in Romania and Bulgaria in the Age of Totalitarianism(s)

An international conference organised by the National Institute for the Study of Totalitarianism of the Romanian Academy together with the Institute of Balkan Studies and the Centre of Thracology (Bulgaria). The event presents and discusses 12 papers on topics including bilateral economic relations, dissent and repression, Cold War challenges, biographies of communist leaders, and demographic issues. The conference will be held in English and is open to the public with limited seating; an online connection via Zoom is provided.
