FEBS Registration Grants and IUBMB Transcontinental Youth Travel Fund (Trans‑YTF) Grants

FEBS Registration Grants support participation of PhD students and postdoctoral scientists from the FEBS area in FEBS Advanced Courses. IUBMB Transcontinental Youth Travel Fund (Trans‑YTF) Grants may be offered by some FEBS Advanced Courses to support participation of eligible scientists from outside the FEBS area. Grant amounts and application procedures vary by individual course and are administered by the course organisers; selected nominations are approved by FEBS (and IUBMB for Trans‑YTF).

Financial support toward registration, accommodation and meals (IUBMB Trans‑YTF covers full registration including accommodation and meals up to USD 2,000); FEBS Registration Grants provide an award up to €800 which can be applied toward registration fees.

FEBS Registration Grants: applicants should be up to 35 years of age (exceptions for delayed studies), be registered PhD students or postdoctoral scientists within five years of completing a PhD, be members of a FEBS Constituent Society, not be resident in the country hosting the course, and meet other restrictions (e.g. prior FEBS awards). IUBMB Trans‑YTF Grants: applicants must study/work and reside in a country with an IUBMB Adhering Body but outside the FEBS area (residence at least six months), be enrolled in a PhD program or be a junior researcher within five years of a PhD, be a member of an IUBMB Adhering Body or Associate Adhering Body, and meet additional conditions described by the course.

Applications are made to the individual course organisers via the course website; applicants submit a completed grant application and evidence of eligibility (e.g., CV, membership proof, recommendation) by the deadline announced on the course website. Organisers nominate selected candidates to FEBS (and IUBMB for Trans‑YTF) for final approval.
