CRI IGNITE Award

The CRI IGNITE Award supports the transition of outstanding postdoctoral researchers into independent tenure-track investigators in cancer immunology. The program provides two sequential phases of funding: a Foundation Phase (up to 2 years of postdoctoral support) and an Independence Phase (up to 3 years of faculty support). IGNITE requires a formal co-investment from the hiring institution during the Independence Phase and provides mentorship, protected research time, and resources to establish a research program. Funding is available to U.S. and international researchers and may support research conducted in the U.S. or abroad.

Multi-year salary and research support (specified annual amounts for Phase 1 and Phase 2), mentorship, protected research time, and institutional co-investment to establish an independent lab.

Applicants must be in a mentored postdoctoral position at the time of application, with no more than 5 years of postdoctoral experience (exceptions may be granted). Applicants must not currently or previously have held an independent research faculty or tenure-track faculty position or its equivalent and must commit to a minimum of 12 months of mentored research before transition. Open to U.S. and international researchers; research may be conducted in the U.S. or abroad.
