Career Development Research Fellowships for Healthcare Professionals

The Career Development Research Fellowships for Healthcare Professionals are funded fellowships supporting healthcare professionals working in cardiovascular settings to undertake research towards scientific independence. Fellowships are normally for applicants who hold a PhD or equivalent professional doctorate and may run for up to three years with a possible two-year extension. The award can cover salary, research consumables, essential equipment, limited travel funds, discretionary funds for professional development, and contributions to caring-related expenses. The fellowship may be taken up full-time or part-time with institutional support and a named senior investigator as supervisor.

Applicants are normally healthcare professionals working in a cardiovascular setting (including nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, clinical psychologists, healthcare scientists, clinical perfusionists and pharmacists) and must hold a PhD or equivalent taught Practitioner/Professional Doctorate. Applicants must have the support of a named senior investigator and host department and may resubmit for a second award in certain circumstances.
