Alpha Nu Sigma National Honor Society

Alpha Nu Sigma is the national honor society affiliated with the American Nuclear Society that recognizes scholastic achievement in nuclear science and engineering. Membership is offered by local ANS student section chapters to qualified junior, senior and graduate students who meet academic rank criteria. Candidates are nominated and approved through a local chapter process and by National Officers, and inducted at the university level. Members receive a certificate and may purchase a pin and honor cord and participate in an induction ceremony.

Only students at institutions with an established ANS student section may be nominated; eligible students are typically juniors in the top quarter, seniors in the top third, and graduate students in the top third of their class according to the Constitution.

Faculty advisors and local chapter nominating committees identify and vote on eligible students; the Faculty Advisor submits Candidate Information and order forms to the ANS Secretary and sends payment to the ANS office for processing.
