UNHCR Internship Programme 2026

UNHCR offers internships for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in international development, refugee protection, policy research, and related humanitarian work. Internships are available at UNHCR duty stations worldwide, including headquarters in Geneva and field offices, with flexible start dates and durations. Internships are not salaries, but eligible interns may receive financial support to help with living costs, travel reimbursement, and access to medical insurance arrangements where applicable.

Open to current undergraduate or graduate students and recent graduates (completed within the last two years) from UNESCO-accredited universities; applicants must have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies and English proficiency at least B2 level.
