University Research Scholarship (URS) at the Australian National University

The University Research Scholarship (URS) at the Australian National University supports high-achieving HDR students whose research aligns with the university's strategic directions. It is part of ANU’s central scholarship rounds and is available to both prospective and current HDR candidates. The scholarship provides an annual stipend and additional benefits, with multiple awards offered each year across HDR programs.

Applicants must be enrolled (or enrolling) in an accredited HDR program at ANU, hold at least Honours H1 or equivalent, and not be an Industry PhD candidate receiving a full-time salary. Current HDR candidates (<1 year full-time equivalent) may apply via the HDR scholarship request form.

Apply for HDR admission at ANU and indicate interest in scholarships (including URS) within the admission application. Current HDR candidates (<1 year FTE) must submit the HDR scholarship request form.
