Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship 2025

The Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship is a five-year, fully funded fellowship jointly funded by the Royal Society and the Wolfson Foundation. It is designed to recruit internationally leading researchers to relocate to the UK and strengthen research in the natural sciences. It is open to mid-career or senior researchers based outside the UK who have a confirmed job offer from a UK university or not-for-profit research institution.

Salary enhancement (up to 20% of total salary), research expenses (equipment, consumables, fieldwork, visa costs, travel), PhD studentships and/or research assistance, relocation and visa costs for researcher and family, flexibility to exceed caps for justified relocation costs, leadership and science communication development, and flexible working support.

You’re eligible if you are a mid-career or senior researcher with a strong international research track record, based outside the UK, and have a confirmed employment offer from a UK university or not-for-profit research institute.

Your UK host institution must nominate you. The host contacts the Royal Society, which provides a nomination form; if approved, you receive a link to submit a full application via Flexi-Grant.
