World Robot Olympiad South Africa

The World Robot Olympiad (WRO) South Africa is a national robotics competition that brings together teams of young people to develop creativity and problem-solving skills through robotics challenges. Teams compete in provincial competitions to become eligible for the National Final, with category winners potentially invited to represent South Africa at the WRO international event. The programme includes multiple challenge types (Robo Mission, Future Innovators, Robo Sports, Future Engineers) and South Africa–specific challenges and in-house events.

National ranking and invitation to the National Final for top teams; winners may be invited to represent South Africa at the WRO international event; certificates awarded for In-House Challenge scores.

Teams of young people in age-specific groups, including college and university teams for certain challenges, may compete in provincial competitions to be eligible for the National Final.

Coaches can run In-House Challenge events and submit team scores to the WRO SA website.
