World Robot Olympiad Switzerland

The World Robot Olympiad Switzerland is the national robotics competition for children and young people featuring categories such as RoboMission, Future Innovators and Starter. Teams design and program robots to solve thematic tasks and the best teams qualify for the WRO world finals or friendly tournaments. Competitions are held at regional locations across Switzerland with a grand Swiss final in Hausen AG. The 2026 competition theme is "Robots Meet Culture" and tasks for the host country (Puerto Rico) were published on January 15, 2026.

Teams gain experience in robot design and programming, problem-solving and teamwork; the best teams in RoboMission and Future Innovators qualify for the WRO world finals or a friendly tournament.

Children and young people aged 6 to 19 may take part in teams of 2 or 3 people with an adult coach; there is a Starter category for ages 6 to 10.
