Health Care Scholars United

A one-time scholarship program supporting current and future healthcare professionals pursuing degrees or certificate programs to obtain or advance clinical credentials. Awards are intended for students who will enter clinical health careers upon completion and are enrolled at the time award funds are distributed. The program is part of a philanthropic commitment by the United Health Foundation and administered through Scholarship America. Recipients are selected based on demonstrated financial need and application materials including essays and statements of goals.

$3,200 one-time scholarship; up to 325 awards available.

Current or aspiring health professionals pursuing clinical degrees or certificate programs; enrolled as a full- or part-time post-secondary student (undergraduate or graduate) or planning to be enrolled in an accredited U.S. program at time of award distribution (November 2026); on track to graduate no later than 2027-08-31; must demonstrate financial need; must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or lawful permanent residents. Current physicians seeking additional certifications/degrees and employees of UnitedHealth Group (and immediate family) are not eligible.

Submit an online application to Scholarship America including demonstration of financial need, short answer responses (approx. 250 words each) to specified prompts, and any required supporting information by the deadline.
