RISE Student Exchange

The RISE Student Exchange is Canada’s summer research exchange program in the chemical sciences that awards research scholarships to undergraduate students. Scholarships support a summer research placement in the laboratories of a RISE Advisor at another institution and include travel funding and conference support. The program culminates in the annual RISE Conference where scholars present their research. Host institutions for 2026 include several Canadian universities with the conference hosted by the University of Ottawa.

Research stipend, travel funding, funding to attend the annual RISE Conference, and opportunity to present research at the conference.

Undergraduate students who will have completed the equivalent of two or three full years of study toward a BSc degree in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or Biochemistry as of May 2026.

Submit a completed application form, most recent academic transcript, and one letter of recommendation to be submitted by the letter writer. An online registration/application form is provided.
