Boyd McCandless Award

The Boyd McCandless Award recognizes a young scientist who has made a distinguished theoretical contribution to developmental psychology, conducted programmatic research of distinction, or contributed to dissemination of developmental science. The award is given for continued efforts rather than a single work and is presented by APA Division 7 at that year's APA Annual Convention. Winners serve as committee chairs for the following year’s award. Self-nominations are not permitted.

Scientists who are within seven years of completing their doctoral degree and who are members of APA Division 7 by March 15 of the nomination year; no self-nominations.

Nominations submitted (no self-nominations) with a letter of nomination, the nominee's CV, up to four representative publications, and contact information for three potential referees; materials are to be emailed to the Chair of the selection committee.
