Access ERC Starting Grants 2026

A French national call funding a two-year postdoctoral contract to prepare and submit an ERC Starting Grants application. It is aimed at early-career researchers in the Social Sciences and Humanities and includes rapid selection, dedicated support and a kick-off meeting with ERC National Contact Points. The funding supports a host French research organisation that will host and mentor the researcher and aims to improve success at the ERC Starting Grants 2028 call.

A two-year postdoctoral contract (24 months), salary and environment-related costs, mentor supervision, rapid selection feedback and a kick-off meeting with ERC National Contact Points.

Holders of a PhD in Social Sciences and Humanities (or equivalent) with 2 to 6 years of experience after the thesis as of 1 January of the targeted ERC Starting Grants call; must have the guarantee of being hosted in a French research lab and have demonstrated at least one year of mobility during or after the thesis; must have strong command of English.

Submit a proposal via the ANR submission platform (IRIS) and provide host lab commitment letters; applicants must meet the stated eligibility criteria.
