Egyptian Government Scholarships for Foreign Students

A scholarship programme run by the Egyptian government through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research offering places at Egyptian public universities to foreign students. It funds undergraduate and postgraduate study and typically includes an Arabic preparatory year for non-Arabic speakers. Full tuition fees, monthly living allowance, accommodation in university housing (where available), health insurance, and a one-year Arabic language preparatory course for non-Arabic speakers.

Students from African Union member states, Arab countries, and countries with bilateral agreements with Egypt; applicants must hold a secondary school certificate (for undergraduate) or a bachelor’s/master’s degree (for postgraduate) and meet academic and health requirements set by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education.

Contact the Egyptian embassy or consulate in your country to inquire; obtain the application form and required documents from the embassy or Egyptian Cultural Bureau; prepare documents (transcripts, birth certificate, health certificate, motivation letter) and submit through the Egyptian embassy within the application period; await notification from the Ministry.
