Postdoc Fellowship for Research Abroad

A postdoctoral fellowship from the Novo Nordisk Foundation to support internationalisation of promising researchers by funding at least three years of research abroad followed by up to one year at a Danish institution. The programme supports fundamental research in bioscience and basic biomedicine across fields such as molecular and cell biology, bioinformatics, genetics, pharmacology and biostatistics. Fellows receive project funding and are expected to reintegrate into the Danish research environment after the stay abroad. Applications are evaluated by the Committee on Bioscience and Basic Biomedicine on scientific quality, originality, impact, approach, collaboration environment and applicant track record.

Up to DKK 5 million over four years; salary for the applicant, operating expenses, equipment, conference participation, travel, publication costs, and relocation support.

Applicants must be employed by a Danish research institution for the entire fellowship period, have obtained a PhD within five years of the fellowship start date, have strong ties to the Danish research community, have at least one first-author publication and a confirmed collaboration with a principal investigator abroad.

Applicants must submit required supporting documents including hosting letters from the Danish and foreign institutions, CV of the foreign host, and other declarations; applications are submitted to the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
