Portugal–Germany Bilateral Cooperation 2026: Joint Research Grant for Researcher Mobility and International Scientific Collaboration

The Portugal–Germany Bilateral Cooperation 2026 Joint Call invites eligible research institutions and researchers to submit proposals for international collaborative projects aimed at strengthening scientific cooperation between Portugal and Germany. The programme focuses on mobility of professors and researchers, especially early-career researchers, to enable joint research activities over a maximum of 24 months, funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

Funding for mobility activities and collaborative research between Portuguese and German teams; potential continuation through renewal per programme regulations; enhances international partnerships and researcher experience.

Open to eligible institutions in Portugal and Germany, including higher education institutions, university institutes, R&D units, state laboratories, international laboratories based in Portugal, private non-profit research bodies, other public and private non-profit research organizations, and companies participating in scientific research.

Prepare a joint proposal with Portuguese and German Principal Investigators, register for Ciência ID, include a Ciência Vitae CV, and submit via the official FCT submission portal.
