Fellowships in Public Health & Tropical Medicine

Fellowships in Public Health & Tropical Medicine support researchers from low- and middle-income countries to establish themselves as leading investigators at an academic institution in a low- and middle-income country location. Projects should aim to understand and control diseases relevant to local, national or global health, including potential laboratory or field components. The fellowship provides salary support, research expenses, training costs and other allowances for up to five years, with a focus on enabling full-time research activity at the host institution.

Salary support, research expenses, training costs, inflation allowance, allowances for overseas training or collaboration, and support to attend scientific meetings.

Applicants must be national or legal residents of a low- and middle-income country and meet one of the following: a graduate with a PhD and at least five years of postdoctoral experience; a medical graduate with a higher qualification equivalent to membership of a Royal College; or a recognized specialist with at least five years of research experience. Those without a PhD but with a first degree or Master's and substantial research experience may be considered.
