British Academy - CIFAR Global Scholars 2026-2028

The British Academy in partnership with CIFAR offers a two-year Global Scholars fellowship to collaborate with CIFAR research programs and receive mentorship within an interdisciplinary network. Open to researchers based in the UK within the social sciences and humanities, the program supports research activities and leadership development over the 2026-2028 term.

Unrestricted research funds of $100,000 CAD; potential access to CIFAR seed funds for interdisciplinary collaboration; membership in the CIFAR Global Scholars network; training in leadership, mentoring, science communication and advocacy.

Hold a PhD and a full-time position at an institution of higher education or research, with responsibility for leading independent research as a principal investigator and supervising or teaching trainees, available for the full term from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028.

Review eligibility criteria and CIFAR initiatives, prepare documentary evidence of research achievements, a research statement, and letters of recommendation; submit via the CIFAR website.
