ESRC White Rose Social Science DTP Scholarships

The ESRC White Rose DTP Scholarships are fully funded research studentships across multiple social science pathways offered through a collaboration of seven UK universities. They cover full tuition and provide a maintenance stipend plus opportunities for additional training and research activities. The awards are available to UK/Home and international applicants for 2026 entry, with several competitive categories and pathways.

Full tuition coverage, annual maintenance stipend, RTSG for conferences and research activities, potential additional funding for fieldwork and related costs, and access to broad training and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Applications are welcome from UK/Home and international students. Applicants should have a minimum 2:1 honours degree or international equivalent; plus additional requirements for certain awards such as a Master’s in Social Science Research or equivalent experience for +3.5 awards.

Applications must be submitted via the University of Sheffield Postgraduate Online Application system; follow the portal steps to attach the WRDTP form and complete department and scholarship requirements before the internal deadlines.
