UNESCO AfriMAB-GRÓ LRT Land Restoration Fellowships 2026

The UNESCO AfriMAB-GRÓ LRT Land Restoration Fellowships 2026 offer two fully funded fellowships for African biosphere reserve professionals. The six-month postgraduate-level programme in ecosystem restoration and sustainable land management combines coursework, field training, and an individual project, hosted at the Agricultural University of Iceland. Fellows receive full tuition coverage, travel, health insurance, a living stipend, and graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Ecosystem Restoration and Sustainable Land Management (30 ECTS).

Full tuition and academic expenses, round-trip travel, health insurance, monthly living costs stipend, and a Postgraduate Diploma (30 ECTS) upon completion

Candidates must hold a prominent role in ecosystem restoration within a biosphere reserve, have at least one university degree in a relevant field, possess at least one year of experience, be proficient in English, and be under 40 years old. The home institution must approve a six-month study leave and guarantee salary and benefits during training.
