Commonwealth Professional Fellowships 2025/2026

Commonwealth Professional Fellowships are funded professional development fellowships for mid-career professionals from low- and middle-income countries to spend time at a UK host organisation working in their sector. The programme aims to enhance knowledge and skills in their field and create catalytic effects in their workplaces. The fellowships cover travel, stipends, and related costs for a period of professional development, under six development themes including science and technology for development and health systems strengthening.

Return airfare, visa fee reimbursement, monthly stipend, arrival allowance, potential funds for short courses/conferences and related travel, disability support if applicable.

Prospective fellows must be citizens of or have refugee status in an eligible Commonwealth country, be permanently resident there, have at least five years of relevant work experience, be employed at a return-to job, and provide references; academics may apply for management-related programmes but not for research or coursework in their subject.
