Postdoctoral Fellowship in Experimental Quantum Matter 2026

The Postdoctoral Fellowship in Experimental Quantum Matter 2026 is a funded research position at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen focused on experimental quantum materials, condensed matter physics and quantum device engineering. It is intended for PhD holders and early-career researchers to conduct up to two years of laboratory-based research on topics such as topological quantum matter, semiconductor–superconductor hybrid systems and quantum simulation. Fellows work in a collaborative environment with access to cryogenic, nanofabrication and high-frequency measurement facilities and may collaborate with theoretical researchers and industry partners.

Monthly salary (~39,200 DKK), pension contributions (~18%), full employment benefits, access to world-class laboratories and equipment, and funding for long-term experimental research.

Applicants must hold a PhD in physics, applied physics or a related field; have a strong background in experimental condensed matter physics; and are typically early-career researchers with experience in nanofabrication or low-temperature systems. Bachelor’s and Master’s students are not eligible.
