The Bowers Undergraduate Research Experience (BURE) is a 10-week summer research program hosted by the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science. Cornell undergraduates are paired with faculty mentors and doctoral students to tackle specific research projects, working full time for an hourly wage or a research stipend. The program includes weekly talks, social events, and concludes with a research symposium where participants showcase their work. A related stream, BURE Next, was created to encourage research opportunities for undergraduate students from underrepresented groups outside Cornell.
