Informação
The International Research Training Groups (IRTG) are bilateral, university-led programmes that combine top-level research with structured doctoral training and reciprocal research visits. Under a joint DFG–SSHRC scheme one German–Canadian IRTG project will be funded, supporting coordinated research and qualification measures for doctoral researchers and exchanges between partner institutions. Funding can include PhD positions, project-specific research costs, longer-term research visits, and activities such as workshops and conferences.
Benefícios
Funding for PhD positions/fellowships up to 48 months, project-specific research costs, longer-term reciprocal research visits for doctoral researchers, joint workshops/conferences/seminars, and short-term visits/lectures by participating researchers.
Elegibilidade
Proposals may be submitted by universities and research institutions entitled to confer doctoral degrees. Proposals are open in subject areas covered by SSHRC, particularly social sciences and humanities not primarily focused on health; an IRTG is run by two teams based at one institution in Germany and one in Canada.
Candidatura
Proposals are to be submitted by the host institutions; each IRTG has one spokesperson on each side responsible for the proposal and coordination.
