Tata Building India School Essay Competition

The Tata Building India School Essay Competition is a national essay contest for school students that encourages reflection on national and social issues. It is run in multiple phases (film-inspired activity followed by essay writing) with evaluation at school, city and national levels. The competition recognises winners with certificates, medals, gift vouchers and other mementos, and national-level winners are intended to be offered a visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan. Registrations are free and open to schools across India.

School-level certificates, medals and merchandise; city-level winners/runners-up receive online gift vouchers, e-certificates and e-medals; national-level winners receive larger online gift vouchers, e-certificates, e-medals and a planned visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan; certificates/participation and mementos for schools and teachers; teaching aids for selected schools.

Open to school students in India in two categories: Junior (classes 6–8) and Senior (classes 9–12). Schools may register students.

Schools register students to participate; first phase involves watching short films and answering questions, followed by in-person essay writing on the day of the competition.
