Greening STEM Grant 2026

The Greening STEM Grant is a funded grant program awarding $5,000 per selected project to public middle and high schools (grades 6–12) and their community partners in specified U.S. communities. It supports student-centered STEM projects focused on local environmental issues, with emphasis on place-based learning, citizen science, and partnerships with community organizations. Two cohorts of five projects will be selected for the 2026–2027 grant cycle, with a total of five $5,000 grants awarded.

Grant funding of $5,000 per selected project; support for STEM-focused environmental education activities, materials, and related project costs.

Open to public middle and high schools serving Grades 6–12 located in the targeted communities, along with their community partners.

Applications are submitted through the NEEF online grants system.
