National History Day in Idaho

National History Day in Idaho is a year-long student-led academic program in historical research, interpretation and creative expression for students in grades 4-12 across Idaho. Students create projects during the school year and compete at regional contests and a state contest in the spring, with a 2026-2027 theme of Innovation in History: Impact, Influence, Change.

Open to students in grades 4-12 across Idaho. Grades 6-8 compete in the Junior Division and grades 9-12 in the Senior Division; virtual regional and state options are available for paper, documentary and website entries.
