Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2026–2027

The Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2026–2027 is a global educational robotics competition led by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) that invites young people to design AI-powered robotic solutions addressing health emergencies. The edition focuses on practical projects that connect robotics and artificial intelligence with emergency response, healthcare support and community resilience. Teams may participate via in-person local or national events (Local Chapters) or via an online submission route. The programme is platform-agnostic and allows use of locally available hardware and materials.

International competition experience; development of AI and robotics skills through practical project work; problem-solving, teamwork and leadership development; networking with innovators, educators and international stakeholders; potential opportunity to reach the Grand Finale at the AI for Good Global Summit; complimentary Discovery Passes to the AI for Good Global Summit for participating Grand Finale team members and mentors; Youth Zone exhibition opportunities for selected teams; media and exposure opportunities; international recognition for projects.

The competition has two age categories: Junior (born between 2012 and 2016) and Senior (born between 2008 and 2011). Students may participate through schools, robotics clubs, youth organisations or online where no Local Chapter is available. Public and private organisations, government institutions and ministries can apply to organise a Local Chapter.

Teams participate through an established Local Chapter where available or via an online route by preparing a robotics project and submitting a video for evaluation. Organisations may apply to host a Local Chapter using the official Apply to Organize application and provide organisational and event details.
