AMS Annual Meeting Student Travel Grant Program

The AMS Annual Meeting Student Travel Grant Program provides financial support for students to attend the AMS Annual Meeting, the large gathering of the weather, water, and climate community. Recipients receive hotel accommodations, meeting registration, and a stipend to help offset travel expenses. The program aims to encourage engagement between students, peers, and professionals in the field. Eligibility is limited to enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who are active AMS student members and are not presenting a paper at the Annual Meeting.

Applicants must be active AMS student members for 2026, be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, and not be presenting a paper at the AMS Annual Meeting. Presentations at the Student Conference do not affect eligibility.

Application portal opens July 29, 2026. Applicants log in with AMS profile credentials, select the AMS Annual Meeting Student Travel Grant Program in the portal, complete and submit the online application. Applications reviewed after the September 18, 2026 deadline; selected recipients will be notified by email.
