Diesterweg-Stipendium für Kinder und ihre Eltern

The Diesterweg-Stipendium is a two-year educational scholarship programme for whole families, bringing fourth-grade children and their parents from across Frankfurt together to develop competencies and support the transition from primary to secondary school. The programme includes weekend academy days, parent-child meetings, holiday courses for the children, weekly digital academic support, parental evenings and counselling. It aims to strengthen families as educational partners, discover potentials and connect participants with educational institutions and learning locations in Frankfurt.

Participation in a 24-month programme including 10 full-day weekend academy days, 4 parent-child meetings, up to 7 holiday courses for children (4th–5th grade), weekly digital academic support, 4 digital parent evenings, parental cafés, workshops and personal counselling; visits to educational locations in Frankfurt.

Teachers at Frankfurt primary schools can nominate children and their parents every two years. Nominated families should be motivated to learn together, willing to participate in weekend and holiday activities over two years, and socio-economic or language barriers should not preclude participation.

Children and parents are nominated by teachers at Frankfurt primary schools; nominated families attend an information event and take part in personal selection interviews. Recommendation documents can be requested from the Diesterweg team.
