UK Summer Institutes

The UK Summer Institutes are three- to four-week programmes for US undergraduate students to study at a UK university and experience British culture, heritage and higher education. Each Institute is hosted by a different UK university and focuses on a specific theme or subject area. Participants take academic classes, attend cultural activities and may receive credit transferable to their home institution. The programme is cohort-based and organised by the Fulbright Commission and partner universities.

Round-trip airfare; airport transfer; tuition and fees at host institution; accommodation and some meals; social and cultural programme with free activities; small daily meal allowance where applicable; opportunity to receive transferable academic credit.

US citizens with a US passport who have had no or very little study/travel experience outside North America; minimum GPA 3.6; must be at least 18 years old by the programme start; must have at least two years of undergraduate study remaining after the Institute finishes; must be able to participate in the entire programme and not participate in any other study abroad programmes during Summer 2026.
