Global Young Academy Call for New Members 2025

The Global Young Academy (GYA) invites applications for membership of its international, interdisciplinary cohort of early- to mid-career researchers. Members are selected on the basis of research excellence and commitment to societal impact and serve five-year terms. Members are expected to participate in the GYA Annual General Meeting and to contribute to working groups, policy development and programmes that promote science and education internationally. The GYA counts members and alumni from around 100 countries and is supported by international public and private funders, with an administrative office hosted at the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.

Membership of the GYA for a five-year term, participation in the Annual General Meeting, and engagement in GYA working groups, committees and international programmes.

Applications are sought from young, independent scholars and early- to mid-career researchers who combine high-level research excellence with a demonstrated passion for delivering impact; applicants from a wide range of disciplines and sectors are encouraged.

Apply via the online application form on the Global Young Academy website.
