University of Birmingham Global South Fellowship Program 2026-2027

The Global South Fellowship Program supports the professional development of early-career researchers from universities in the Global South. Visiting fellows gain insight into the organisation and conduct of research, training, and administration at the University of Birmingham and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with aims to promote research collaboration and partnerships with the Global South.

Travel expenses up to £850; monthly stipend of £1,500 for up to three months; potential on-campus accommodation arranged with stipend deductions where applicable.

Applicants must have completed a doctorate; open to early-career researchers from Global South universities, with flexibility across subject areas such as education access and equity, global health, and sustainability and climate action.
