DAAD Scholarship for Doctoral Programmes in Germany 2026 for Young Foreign Academics

It supports both individual doctoral projects and structured doctoral programmes, with the possibility of short research phases outside Germany if essential to the project.

Applicants must hold an above-average Master’s or Diplom degree (exceptionally a Bachelor’s), have completed their degree by the start of the funding period, present a doctoral project proposal with supervision by a German university teacher, and demonstrate strong academic qualifications and motivation.
