STIAS Fellowship Programme for Scholars and Artists in Cape Town 2026

STIAS provides a fellowship for scholars, artists, and research teams to undertake original, interdisciplinary research in a multidisciplinary environment in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Fellows reside at STIAS for the duration of the fellowship, participate in seminars, and have access to research facilities and university resources. The program welcomes individual researchers, artists-in-residence, and teams, with a focus on cross-disciplinary and innovative projects.

Return economy class airfare, accommodation, monthly stipend, office space and access to research facilities, lunches on weekdays, library access.

Open to scholars and artists from any country, discipline, or academic affiliation. Applicants may apply individually, as a team (2–5 members), or as early career African scholars (Iso Lomso Fellowship).
