Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Pós-Graduação (PEC-PG)

The Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Pós-Graduação (PEC-PG) provides scholarships for international students to undertake master's and doctoral studies at Brazilian institutions. It is coordinated by the Ministério das Relações Exteriores together with CAPES and CNPq. The programme offers a monthly stipend and access to Brazil's public health system for the scholarship period. Applications are managed through Brazilian host institutions which submit proposals to the programme.

Monthly scholarship (R$2,100 for master's; R$3,100 for doctoral), access to SUS healthcare in Brazil, and possible return-aid paid by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs subject to budget availability.

Applicants must be nationals and residents of one of the programme's participating countries, must not hold Brazilian nationality or permanent residence, must hold a completed bachelor's degree, must not be enrolled in a same-level course in Brazil, and (for doctoral applicants) must not already hold a doctorate.

Brazilian higher-education institutions submit proposals/vacancies to the programme and coordinate the selection of international candidates; candidates must secure endorsement/registration with the host graduate programme which then appears in institutional submissions.
