Doctoral Programme in the Field of Cognition

A four-year PhD programme offered by the Max Planck School of Cognition, conducted in English with an orientation year followed by three years of research. The programme integrates disciplines such as artificial intelligence, biology, cognitive neuroscience, linguistics, mathematics, neurobiology, and physics, with international collaborations and laboratory rotations across partner institutions. Beginning in the winter semester, it is designed for applicants with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and provides a fully-funded pathway to doctoral studies.

Fully funded doctoral studies; no tuition fees; laboratory rotations across partner institutions; courses in English; international guest lecturers.

Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field by the time of admission.
