McCain Institute American Democracy and Technology Fellowship

The American Democracy & Technology Fellowship is a one-year program run by the McCain Institute at Arizona State University. It provides grant funding to support self-designed projects at the intersection of democracy, technology, and national security, and includes engagement with policymakers, technologists, and experts to translate ideas into solutions.

Grants of $10,000–$25,000; access to the McCain Institute’s network of policymakers, researchers, and technologists; opportunities to influence policy and research; support aligned with the Institute’s mission

Applicants must be based in the United States and hold at least a bachelor’s degree (with six years of relevant experience) or a graduate degree with at least two years of relevant experience.

Submit a project proposal (maximum two pages) outlining objectives, methods, and intended impact. Deadline: October 24, 2025.
