IMF Research Analyst Program (RAP) 2026

The IMF Research Analyst Program (RAP) is a two-year program that provides real-world work experience within the IMF’s operational and policy work. Participants develop quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, work with economic and statistical data, and contribute to research activities. RAP hires from around the world and places participants at IMF Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Gain entry-level analyst experience at a global financial institution; contribute to policy and operational work of IMF economists; build expertise in macroeconomic data analysis and econometrics; exposure to international economic policy and research networks; opportunity to meet pre-doctoral requirements for graduate study applications.

Recently completed a bachelor’s degree in economics, computer science, statistics, math, or business administration; advanced degrees may be considered with limited professional experience.
