Traineeship at the General Secretariat of the Council

The General Secretariat of the Council offers five-month paid traineeships in Brussels twice a year. Trainees work as part of the EU Council secretariat, gaining experience in public administration and policy work. The programme provides a monthly grant and additional allowances, with two application periods each year.

Monthly grant, travel allowance, restaurant allowance, leave days; potential additional disability allowance for eligible applicants.

Applicants must be an EU citizen, hold a university degree by the closing date for applications, have proficiency in English or French (C1), and very good knowledge of at least one EU official language; completing the first cycle of higher education is necessary; no prior training or employment at an EU institution exceeding six weeks is allowed.
