Africa Fellowship for Young Energy Leaders 2025

The Africa Fellowship for Young Energy Leaders (AFYEL) is a six-month, no-cost professional fellowship that prepares Africa’s next generation of clean-energy leaders with rigorous, expert-led training across core renewable technologies and applied field experience. The program combines a general foundational module with specialized tracks, a one-month internship, capstone projects, and a virtual summit connecting fellows with mentors and industry leaders.

World-class, practitioner-led training across major renewable technologies; one-month internship placement; capstone project addressing a local energy problem; mentoring and networking with global experts; access to alumni networks and continued professional opportunities.

Open to early-career engineers, researchers, policy practitioners, economists and finance professionals; typically 21–35 years old; from African countries with postgraduate or undergraduate qualifications in energy-related fields; able to commit to six months of participation plus a one-month internship; capable of engaging in live sessions, project work and mentorship.
