ICGEB-JNU PhD Program 2026

The ICGEB-JNU PhD Program 2026 is conducted in two streams—Human Health & Industrial Biotechnology and Plant Science—by the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) in New Delhi, in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). It invites eligible candidates with Indian nationality to pursue doctoral research in the listed disciplines, with selection based on eligibility criteria and examinations or interviews. The program leads to a PhD and is run exclusively at ICGEB New Delhi.

Eligible candidates must have a First Class M.Sc. (60% or equivalent) or equivalent qualifications (M.Tech, MBBS, M.V.Sc., M.Pharm, or 4-year B.Sc with Research) and, for NET candidates, must hold a valid fellowship through listed examinations (e.g., CSIR, UGC, ICMR, DBT, DST-INSPIRE, BINC) or an equivalent JRF exam.
